The Mafia announced its intention of entering the business of managing Federal Corrections Facilities which they government plans to outsource to private firms. EVP of Institutional Businesses for the Mafia, Anthony Soprano told reporters and Wall Street analysts that the Mafia’s considerable, first hand knowledge of the Federal Prison systems made their organization uniquely qualified for the task. The move is intended to offset pressure on the Mafia’s traditional sources of revenue, such as gambling, which is now competing with state governments who offer a myriad of gambling outlets….casinos, powerball lotteries, off track betting parlors, etc. – and who Soprano said, are subsidized with taxpayer funds.
